New Police Station

The City of Monroe has contracted with Graybach Construction for rehabilitation of 601 S. Main Street.  The City purchased the former grocery store for that purpose early in 2019 and worked with KZF Architect to develop the reuse plans for the building.

It is anticipated that the work will take approximately eight months to complete before we begin the process of moving the Police Department, including the Dispatch Center to the new location.

The new facility will have approximately 25,000 sf of space for the Department.  The existing Police Department is housed in just over 5,000 sf.  The Police Department moved into it's current space in September of 1999 when the Urban Center opened.  Once the Department has been moved to it's new location, the existing space will be developed for expanded administrative offices to include the Development Department and Engineering.
