TRASH collection

Rumpke provides trash collection service, but the City of Monroe is the billing agent for the trash and recycling pick-up.  Trash pick up is determined by the street you live on.   CLICK HERE TO FIND YOUR TRASH DAY!

Trash Cans

Large trash tote cans (with wheels and a lid) are available for residents to rent from Rumpke; however, a Rumpke trash can is not mandatory.  You may also obtain a trash can of your choosing from a local hardware store.  
If you want to rent a trash can from Rumpke, you will need to contact them directly at (513) 742-2900. Please be aware that you will receive a separate bill from Rumpke for the rental of the trash tote can, and you will receive the bill from Rumpke quarterly.

Missed Trash

If your recycling collection was missed, please complete the trash and recycling complaint form. This completed form is logged for our records and routed directly to Rumpke to coordinate a pick-up. If they are still in the area, they will pick up the missed recycling the same day.  If they have left the area, usually they will pick up the missed recycling within the next 24 hours. The exception to this is on weekends and/or holidays. 

Holiday Trash Pick-up

There are only 2 days that Rumpke will not pick up trash: Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. If your normal scheduled trash pick-up is on or following either of these holidays, trash pick-up will be picked up the next day.

IMPORTANT REMINDER!

Do not place trash items on the tree lawn or at the curb before 5 p.m. on the day prior to collection.

Additionally, please remember that all containers should be removed from the tree lawn or curb area by 6:00 a.m. on the morning following collection, and trash containers should not be stored in any portion of the front yard.
