Monroe's Waterways and Watersheds
Monroe is bordered to the west by the Great Miami River, and five of its tributary streams—Coldwater Creek, Gregory Creek, Dick's Creek, Shaker Creek and Millers Creek—run through and around the city. For more information about the Great Miami River Watershed, please visit the Miami Conservancy District website.

This map of Monroe shows areas of high elevation (in light colors) and areas of low-lying elevation (in dark blue).
Floodplains and Low-Lying Areas
Monroe, being in close proximity to the Great Miami River, has several areas that are low-lying and prone to flooding. Please see below for the FEMA flood map for the City of Monroe. Areas in purple reflect a 1% annual chance flood hazard, while those in slate blue are Regulatory Floodway areas.
